The title of this blog post says it all. A lot of us are super busy. Like all the time. We´re trying to fit as many things as possible into our busy schedules and that in itself might be one of the reasons why we forget to take care of ourselves. We just don't have time.
That's why I believe that one of the best solutions for giving yourself more time and taking care of yourself is this: Be less busy. Slow down. Say no to others to say yes to yourself.
Easier said than done, you might say. So, I guess I´m keeping the title. Sticking to the subject here;-)
I´ve had a busy week, and I too have felt it's been pretty hard to find space and time for myself. But I also know that the alternative- just to keep going -is not a healthy option for me.
I believe we need to find out what gives us energy and what makes us feel rested and back on track again in order to load our batteries. And this is different for different people.
I´ve also found that for me this might vary a lot depending on what kind of day I´ve had.
Sometimes I need to take a nap after work.
Sometimes Netflix does the job.
Sometimes a hot bath is all I need.
I have noticed three things that work almost every time for me, and it´s those three:
- Short meditation with focus on my breath (calms my nervous system and keeps me in balance)
- Putting on some music and dance and stretch (moving my body makes me happy and energized)
- Taking walks in nature without listening to anything (just watching trees makes me relax. Trees seem to have a calming effect on my brain)
